Did you know?

Montparnasse station, 1895

Have you already seen this dramatic photo featured on our home page?

This highly unlikely yet spectacular accident actually occurred on October 22, 1895 in Paris. A Granville-Paris steam train literally burst through the facade of Montparnasse railway station (which was known as the Gare de l’Ouest back then). A faulty hand operated braking system was found to be the cause of this disaster, which took place over 110 years ago!

This is why companies such as RAILEXPERT have a vital role to play in improving the safety of guided transport systems.
